HDD for Mine Infrastructure

We deliver HDD and underground infrastructure solutions for pipelines, power and communications in environments where conventional construction is constrained, high-risk or operationally disruptive. This capability supports mining clients where underground infrastructure needs to be delivered with minimal surface disruption and greater control across safety, schedule and operational risk.

Proof points and related projects
Crushing & Screening: crushing and screening of up to 160,000 tonnes per month at Mt Gibson Iron, with more than 7.5 million tonnes of material produced during the contract period; long-term supplier of ROM Pad Management and Primary Crushing at Newmont Boddington and AngloGold Ashanti Tropicana. Related projects: Bald Hill, Greenbushes, BHP Nickel West ROM Management & Primary Crusher, Mt Gibson Iron.
Mine Water & Environmental Services: designed and constructed a horizontal dewatering well for Fortescue Metals Group (Solomon Mine), delivering high-yield groundwater abstraction with flow rates between 25-250 L/s and 102m total dynamic head; delivered horizontal wells that eliminate in-pit infrastructure, reducing operational conflicts and improving safety. Related projects: Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO), FMG dewatering operations, Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum Project.
HDD for Mine Infrastructure: delivered HDD crossings exceeding 2,000m in hard rock, urban and environmentally sensitive environments; completed the Heron Island seawater supply project within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park; designed and constructed Australia’s first horizontal dewatering wells for Fortescue; delivered a 1,305m horizontal well for Rio Tinto at Marandoo. Related projects: Heron Island Sea Water Supply Project, Solomon Horizontal Dewatering Well Design and Construction, Marandoo Horizontal Dewatering Well Design and Construction.
Remote Fibre and Utilities: installed 5km of fibre optic cable connecting the Chevron LNG Plant in Onslow to the Telstra network; delivered over 500 km of fibre optic cable installations across the Pilbara using Ecoploughs; delivered backbone signalling and communications infrastructure for the Roy Hill rail line.
